For over 40 years, Ian Preston, photographer, cinematographer and student of Fine Arts, has rarely left home without a camera. His photographs, which synthesize his passion for documentary film-making and visual art, reflect his commitment to lifelong learning and exploration of photography.
“I have been asked many times what type of photography I do. I used to feel awkward because I didn't feel I had a particular area of focus.
I could more easily talk about what kind of photography I don't do.
I believe that my background in film-making, with its different locations, subjects, and emotions have played a big part in shaping the way I go about my still photography and the results I get from it.”
